Kenneth Patrick Lewis was born on the 24th of October on the island of New Providence in the city of Nassau the Bahamas to Cynthia Buchannan and Eric Lewis.  He is married to the former Dularie Ramlochan and has three children, Kenya, Zia, and Keenan.  He is a successful businessman and has worked as a manager of several major resorts in Grand Bahama.  He is an active Local Presbyter in the Methodist Church (Bahamas Turks & Caicos Islands Conference of the Methodist Church-MCCA).

Sifu Lewis, instructor and author, holds ranks in Hungar Kung Fu, Shotokan Karate, Moo Duk Kwan and Judo.  He began studying his martial arts in 1966 under Leam Fong and was active in tournament competition from 1974 to 1977.   He has traveled allover the world to enhanced and improve his martial arts skills and knowledge.  In 1972 he began teaching and opened the first Bai Sung Institute, a system of Kung Fu Schools operated in the Bahamas and the USA under his direction. Bai Sung Institutes practices and promotes the Four Winds Style of Kung Fu, which was created by Sifu Lewis.

Four Winds is a practical and conscious blend of techniques from various martial arts disciplines. He has personally taught over 3,000 students both in the Bahamas and abroad, many of whom have become national, regional and international champions. His contribution to the martial arts goes beyond the Four Winds Style of Kung Fu and the Bai Sung Institute system.  He was the first to introduce national and international tournament competition to the Bahamas when he sponsored the Sonny Johnson Invitational. He was also a founding member and first vice-president of the Bahamas Martial Arts Federation.  The United Association of Martial Arts has named him “Instructor of the Year,” as well as from the Freeport Jaycees in 1977.  He is also featured in Who’s Who in Martial Arts and Who’s Who in the Bahamas in the early 1980’s.  He and Four Winds were featured in Black Belt Magazine in 1977 and his skills and contribution has been recognized by the All China Sports Commission (the worlds largest sports organization), when he was awarded a plaque in 1984.  On May 22, 1999, Sifu Lewis and his wife traveled to Green Bay, Wisconsin where he was inducted into the World Martial Arts League Hall of Fame along with some of the world’s best martial artist.

As founder of the Four Winds Martial Association, he is the honoured guest at its annual banquet that sees the gathering of hundreds of his students and grand-students. At these annual banquets he has promoted over 80 black belts.

Master Lewis has studied from such notables as Grandmaster Chong Ho Chan of China, Master Kong Yip Lee of China, and Kong Shing Young of Korea, Philip Johnson who taught him Moo Duk Kwan and Grandmaster George Ing of China who now resides in the USA.  

Some of his most notable students and grand students are:  Cedric Miller, Bahamas Kata and weapons champion and first Bahamian to compete and win in international tournaments.  Randy Johnson, first Bahamian grand champion, Gary Garner, USA fighting champion, Leonard Major, National fighting, weapons and kata champion and Lynden French, national and international fighting and kata champion.
